Ingredients

  • 2 Large potatoes
  • 1 medium Swede
  • 60g Butter
  • 1 Savoy Cabbage
  • 30g Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper

Scottish version of Bubble and Squeak

Instructions

Preparation

Peel and Chop Potatoes into large chunks

Peel and Chop Swede into large chunks

Slice or shred cabbage

Grate the Cheddar Cheese

Cooking

Preheat oven to 180 fan

Boil some salted water and add Potatoes and Swede

Drain and keep ready

In the pan melt the butter and add the cabbage

Remove from heat

Add Potatoes and Swede mix to the pan

Mash together

Season to taste

Spoon the mix into a ovenproof dish with a lid

Sprinkle cheese over the top

Place in oven

Remove lid

Cook for a further 20 minutes
